Repair yards run three kinds of work, often on the same vessel at the same time:

• Planned dry-docking. Budgeted from the owner’s repair specification, with dock days, blasting and painting, steel renewal and machinery overhaul priced item by item.
• Expedient and voyage repairs. Unplanned work that needs a price and an approval within hours, at a premium cost.
• Riding crew repairs. Work done at sea by a travelling team, with labor and materials charged to the vessel.

ProjectVIEW ERP puts all three under one vessel project with one BoQ ↔ WBS ↔ Cost Codes structure. Planned, expedient and riding-crew costs stay separate for control, but roll up into one margin per vessel.

Enter or import each item of the owner’s repair specification as a BoQ item. Price it from the yard’s own rate library: steel per tonne, piping per metre, blasting and coating per m², crane hours, dock days, and labor norms per trade. Once the owner accepts the quotation, the same BoQ becomes the budget, with no re-keying. Growth work found later is priced against the same rates, so the owner sees consistent pricing.

Opening-up and inspection can reveal additional work. In ProjectVIEW ERP, each new finding is a variation linked to the original specification item. It has its own estimate and approval status, and its cost is tracked separately until the owner approves it. Unapproved work is visible every day, not discovered at final invoicing.

Plan dock and berth occupancy across all vessels in the yard. Track dock-day cost and overstay per vessel, and see early when a delayed vessel will block the next docking.
